Full-frame that actually fits in my bag
I switched from an A7 III for travel and the size difference is night and day. The autofocus locks onto eyes instantly and the files are gorgeous. My only gripe is the tiny viewfinder, but for street work I mostly use the screen anyway.

Great image quality, single card slot stings
Image quality is superb and the AI tracking is the real deal for events. I knocked off a star because as a wedding shooter the single card slot makes me nervous. For everything else it's brilliant and the IBIS is genuinely useful.

Buyer questions

Questions & answers

Real questions from buyers, answered by owners and the ComparZone team.

From the community

QCan I use my existing Sony E-mount lenses on the A7C II?
Yes, it uses the standard Sony E-mount, so all full-frame FE lenses and most APS-C E lenses (with a crop) work natively.
QDoes it overheat during long 4K recording?
It handles 4K 30p recording well for extended clips. Heavy 4K 60p use in hot conditions can eventually trigger thermal limits, but for typical hybrid use it is reliable.

What are the main improvements over the original Sony A7C?
The A7C II features a higher resolution 33MP sensor, the BIONZ XR processor with an AI unit for superior autofocus, 7-stop IBIS, and more advanced video capabilities compared to its predecessor.
Does the Sony A7C II have a touch screen?
Yes, the Sony A7C II features a fully articulating, vari-angle touchscreen LCD, which is highly convenient for vlogging, creative angles, and menu navigation.
What kind of battery does the Sony A7C II use and what is its life?
