Pros & cons
Pros
- Satisfying, precise rotating physical bezel for navigation
- Bright, vibrant AMOLED display with slim bezels
- Comprehensive health suite including ECG, SpO2, and body composition
- Smooth Wear OS 4 experience with a large app catalog
Cons
- About a day of battery life, less with always-on display

- Not compatible with iPhone
- Thicker and heavier than the standard Watch 6
When should you buy?
Good time to buy
Launched at $399 for the 43mm Bluetooth model. Street pricing has dropped notably since release, with frequent sales bringing it well below MSRP, especially after the Watch 7 generation arrived.

The bezel makes it
Came from a Watch 5 Pro and the bezel is exactly why I bought this. Spinning through notifications feels great and the screen is gorgeous. Paired with my S23 I get ECG and body composition right on the wrist. Battery is the only thing I babysit, but fast charging gets me back up quickly.

Great watch, wish it lasted longer
Beautiful and well built, Wear OS runs smoothly and apps are plentiful. My only real gripe is having to charge every day, and I had to turn off always-on display to make it through. Also a couple of health features wanted a Samsung phone, which I do not have.

From the community
QDo I need a Samsung phone to use it fully?
It works with most modern Android phones for core features, but ECG, blood pressure, and a few others officially require a Samsung Galaxy phone with the Samsung Health Monitor app.
QHow long does the battery really last with always-on display?
Expect roughly a full day with always-on display enabled on the 47mm, and a bit more if you turn it off. Heavy GPS or workout use will shorten that.
Frequently asked
Does the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic work with iPhone?
No. Samsung dropped iOS support several generations ago, so the Watch 6 Classic only works with Android phones, and best with Samsung Galaxy devices.
What is the rotating bezel for?
The physical rotating bezel lets you scroll through menus, apps, and notifications by turning the ring, which is faster and more tactile than swiping a touchscreen, especially with wet or gloved hands.
Can it measure body composition?
Yes. Using the BioActive sensor's bioelectrical impedance analysis you can estimate body fat, skeletal muscle, body water, and BMI directly from the watch.
