Great console, tough price
No complaints about performance, the 2TB SSD is welcome and games load instantly. But $699 plus the disc drive add-on stings, and a few of my older games don't really look any different. Excellent for new high-fidelity releases though.

Ray tracing finally runs how it should
Upgraded from a launch PS5 and the difference in supported games is night and day. Ray-traced reflections at a locked high frame rate look incredible on my OLED. PSSR cleans up the image nicely. The only sour note was buying the disc drive separately.

QDoes it support 8K output?
It advertises 8K output support, but in practice almost all games render at up to 4K and rely on PSSR upscaling. True native 8K gaming is not realistic on this hardware.
QCan I add more storage?
Yes, there is a standard M.2 NVMe SSD slot under the side panel, so you can add a compatible Gen4 drive on top of the built-in 2TB.
